Career Development Conference 2021

Lauren Horn, Martin County High School

1st Place in Public Speaking

The annual Career Development Conference is one of, if not the most, exciting events for JAG KY. This statewide competition features our students presenting their best in the areas of public speaking, decision making, employability skills, service learning, project-based learning, employer interview, and essays. Each of these competitions are judged by representatives from our employer partners, local government officials, JAG KY board members, and our own central office staff.

Essay Winner Excerpts

"As a member of Jobs for Kentucky’s Graduates for two years, I have learned many
essential skills and life lessons, specifically how to be more resilient, perseverant and confident. JAG has taught me countless valuable lessons that will remain with me throughout the rest of my life."
